I am an Ord by birth. Craven Ord (see below) is my

The coat of arms for Craven ORD (antiquarian) and his son Robert Hutchinson ORD KH and his brother William Redman ORD all have Hutchinson (per pale gu and az., a lion ramp. btw eight crosses crosslet or) as one of the quarterings. I am mystified as to which Hutchinson family this Hutchinson quartering comes from. John ORD d. 1721 of Newcastle on Tyne m. Ann Hutchinson dau of Michael Hutchinson of Lofthouse, Yorkshire. The Hutchinson coat of arms (same as the one in the body of the posting) was according to Hunter (I think) ( not sure at this time which publication) not his to use. I cannot find much info about the next possible Hutchinson family we married ... Henry Ord (son of John ORD previous) m. Ann Hutchinson d. 1794 dau of Francis Hutchinson of Fornham St. Martin near Bury St. Edmund.
I also cannot find any clue as to when we were granted a coat of arms at all. I know that many people purchased the right from the crown so that crown could raise money but can't find out when if that is the case in this ORD family. I have assumed to date that as Craven Ord was an antiquraian FRS and FSA that he probably did not fake his pedigree but then.... who knows. The coat of arms we have quarters (at the moment) Ord, Blagrave, Hutchinson, Craven and Craven. The two Craven coats of arms are from the same family Craven but different entirely. Ann Hutchinson (m. Henry Ord) was a Craven descendant which I have verified.
Any clue would help as I have found using the coat of arms of Robert Hutchinson ORD invaluable in my research.

Burke's Armory, that very useful but not wholly reliable volume, has on
page 760 of my copy of the 1884 edition a couple of Ord arms entries,
both the same, one dating from c. 1612 and one that includes Hutchinson
and Craven quarterings.

This sounds like the arms you are referring to.

The obvious first question is whether you are descended from this Ord
family. Do you have a researched line of descent that is, or can be
placed, somewhere on the internet? If you do not have facilities to
put such a thing somewhere, I could put it on my site while we discuss
this: just e-mail the documentation to me.

You mention "I have found using the coat of arms of Robert Hutchinson
ORD invaluable in my research". Can you explain what this is a bout as
it might make it easier to resolve your questions?
