I was just looking at the website for the South Africa Bureau of Heraldry to see the prices for the services they offer, and examples of their work. As I was browsing, I noticed that they have placed a moratorium on additaments for feudal barons and lords of the manor.

Out of curiosity I was wondering if any of you know to what additaments lords of the manor were/are entitled?

Thank you.

Not aware of any, though I've never been to that site and they're free to invent anything they choose to add in their own sovereign system...

I believe at one time the phrase lord of the manor of X could be included in the bureau registration/confirmation/grant whatever thingee. The Chief PTB would merely take your word for it that you were really a feudal baron, lord of the manor, or whatever you stated in print. (he stated he takes a gentleman at his word until proven not to be a gentleman or to not be of his word..)

As you can imagine, this didn't work to well. The whole lord of the manor thing is more and more dubious, the LL announced the appointed day policy, and the question had to be asked "shouldn't a south africa bureau of heraldry be more about africa than questions of legitimacy in the british tradition"??

And,yes, outright fraud as well.
